Magnetic Products Inc. (MPI) will be displaying a line of equipment at IMTS this year that promises eco-friendly and high efficiency solutions to material handling.

First among these products is Eco-Mag, the company's much-lauded high-intensity magnetic filter. By eliminating the need for filter consumables, Eco-Mag earns its environmentally friendly status without sacrificing utility, said the company. The system uses high-power rare earth magnets to remove ferrous and para-magnetic contamination from fluids, which provides improved filtration for machine tool oils, coolants and hydraulic fluid machinery systems.

Also at the MPI booth this year will be the company's Beltless Magnetic Conveyor (BLM). Employing high-power, permanent magnets below a non-magnetic steel slider bed in a liquid-tight housing, BLM offers positive control of ferrous metal materials even when completely submerged in machine reservoir tanks. The system also encourages increased staff efficiency through its internal, self-adjusting take-up system, which eliminates the need for maintenance.

Another product showcasing the company's green line is its Magnetic Extreme Coolant Cleaner (XCC). This tool improves ferrous swarf capture rate and features durable stainless steel cleaning surface that does not wear out. Because of its magnetic design, XCC eliminates costs and waste associated with consumables while also eliminating the downtime required to change out paper filters.

Finally, MPI will be showing off its line of compact, portable oil skimmers. These self-regulating tilting skimmers are designed to capture tramp oil on the surface of process fluids without returning unwanted fluids back into the tank.
