Are you still making decisions based on COVID-era trauma and/or caution? That idea, raised by economist Phil Powell, caught my ear during a recent IndustryWeek webinar. It’s the corporate equivalent of generals fighting the last war and thus constantly needing to chase the latest trends and innovations. In the case of many C-suites over the past two years, that could have meant basing strategy on the last set of recession predictions—and thus needing to chase more audacious competitors. Something to chew on for 2025.
