2025 IW U.S. 500: Top Consumer Packaged Products Manufacturers

July 2, 2025
2024 was not a year for big revenue gains for most of the largest consumer packaged goods manufacturers in the IndustryWeek U.S. 500.

If you eliminate food and beverage companies from the equation, 17 manufacturers categorized as consumer packaged goods producers made the 2025 IW U.S. 500, IndustryWeek’s listing of the biggest 500 publicly held U.S. manufacturing companies based on 2024 revenue.

The combined revenues of these 17 manufacturers reached $199.614 billion, book-ended by the largest, Procter & Gamble Co., with revenue of just over $84 billion, and the smallest, e.l.f. Beauty Inc., which reported revenue of $1.3 billion.

Among the top players in this category, revenue gains were hard to come by and stayed in a narrow range. Two of the top five revenue-producing manufacturers reported declines of less than 2%, while the leading gainer among the top 5, Colgate-Palmolive, boosted revenue by 3.3%.

Clorox, just outside the top 5 at No. 6 among consumer packaged goods makers, reported a 4% drop in revenue, showing a solid recovery for a manufacturer that spent a good portion of 2024 working to recover from the damages of an August 2023 cyberattack.

More ‘By the Numbers’

Eight manufacturers in this category reported revenue decreases in 2024, while three saw double-digit growth.

One single manufacturer reported a net loss for the fiscal year, while nine others reported declines in net income, all of which were double-digit decreases.
