Accuride Corp., a manufacturer and supplier of commercial vehicle components, plans to expand aluminum-wheel capacity at its facilities in Erie, Pa., and Monterrey, Mexico.
The $13 million expansion plan includes the addition of aluminum-wheel machining and polishing equipment at the facilities.
"Accuride's strategic focus on further developing our core product offering and market penetration of these products is resulting in a steadily increasing global demand for our aluminum wheels," said Bill Lasky, Accuride's president, CEO, and chairman. "The addition of aluminum-wheel production capability at our Monterrey wheel facility will allow us to meet the increasing product demands of our customer base both inside and outside the NAFTA region."
Installation of equipment in Monterrey will begin in first-quarter 2011 and will be completed by third-quarter 2011, according to the company.
