Faces of Manufacturing 2024: 'If You Work Hard, the Opportunities Are Vast'

Oct. 4, 2024
In celebration of Manufacturing Day 2024, manufacturing workers share why they love their vocation. Here are their stories.

Welcome to Manufacturing Day 2024 and, by extension, Manufacturing Month. It gives us great pleasure at IndustryWeek to once again share Faces of Manufacturing, our annual showcase of the people who make manufacturing work. It’s also an opportunity to illustrate a small fraction of the many different types of jobs available in manufacturing, from machinist and sales leader to process engineer, and more.

More Manufacturing Day Coverage Here!

These Faces of Manufacturing 2024 participants enjoy what they do, even as the reasons behind the joy vary. Some like the idea and the reality of making tangible things and the teamwork it involves, while others can’t get enough of problem-solving, an activity inherent in manufacturing operations. Still others like the diversity of work they perform—it’s not just one task all day.

As in past years, we invited manufacturers to tell their stories, and we’ve compiled them here for you. Please enjoy. They tell a story of the importance of manufacturing and the satisfaction this industry provides to those who step into its world.

Additionally, we will try to update this gallery at least once or twice during October, so if you’d like to participate, here's how.
