"In spite of a number of barriers in 2005, the [RFID] market has moved forward steadily, and seems to be gathering steam," concludes a study by Regan, Jacob & Syndey (RJ&S), a division of Dallas-based Incucomm. The study found many expanding RFID applications are becoming drivers of adoption with retail use showing positive results when mandated.
The paper, "Has RFID 'Crossed the Chasm?", reviews four areas: RFID Usage, The U.S. Department of Defense's role in the market, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions, and wars over standards and patents. The international study was based on interviews with 500 individuals.
