The tradition of excellence among manufacturing engineers is evident in the awards given by the SME to the field's young talent. The SME Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award is presented annually to honor manufacturing engineers, age 35 or younger, for their contributions and accomplishments in the manufacturing industry throughout the early stages of their careers.
