Fujitsu Introduces New RFID Tags

Last week, Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc., a division of Tokyo-based Fujitsu, announced the newest member of its FerVID family of RFID tags, the MB89R119. It's faster -- 50 times the speed of tags that use EEPROM -- and costs the same as EEPROM tags. The MB89R119 has 256 bytes of FRAM, uses the 13.56 MHZ frequency and is in compliance with the ISO/IEC 15693 international standard for RFID tags.

It will be available on Oct. 1, 2005.
