Process sensor manufacturer VEGA Americas, Inc., opened its new Ohio headquarters today in Mason, Ohio. The new, $50 million is about 20 miles north of its previous U.S. headquarters in Cincinnati and has 130,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 230,000 square feet in total, according to a company release.
According to VEGA Americas co-CEO John Groom, the new, larger site will let the company produce more products than in its previous location. “We’re investing in capabilities to better serve our customers,” Groom said. “This facility will enable us to produce a wider range of instrumentation in the U.S. than was possible before.”
VEGA Americas employs about 400 people, all of whom work at its headquarters in Southern Ohio. According to Control Design magazine, the new facility includes new production areas, labs for engineering, quality assurance, prototyping and training, expanded shipping and training areas, and offices. Control Design also reported the newly-expanded site will take on some manufacturing work from VEGA’s international headquarters in Grieshaber, Germany.
