France-based battery manufacturer Forsee Power is putting down U.S. roots near Columbus, Ohio. The company announced it would build its North American headquarters as well as a 138,000-square foot factory in Hilliard, a western suburb of the state capital. The company also announced a President for its North American operations, Jay Deis.
The company’s headquarters and factory will be located on the same scalable 138,000-square-foot site. In a June 27 release, Forsee said it aimed to recruit 150 employees, invest 13 million euros ($13.6 million USD), and reach 3 GWh of production capacity by 2027.
In the same announcement, the Paris-based battery manufacturer named Jay Deis, an American citizen and veteran of the French Tier 1 supplier Faurecia.
In a statement, Forsee Power CEO Christophe Gurtner said Columbus was the right spot for the company because of the presence of supply chain and academic partners, as well as a workforce base for hiring production operators and engineers.
