Boeing said it had received orders for 530 planes in 2010, a 31% increase from the year before, despite problems with its new 787 Dreamliner.
The company said the jump in orders, up from 405 in 2009, came as "air carriers transition from economic recovery to expansion."
A large portion of 2010's deliveries and orders were for Boeing's Next-Generation 737.
To meet a backlog in 737 orders Boeing said it would ramp up production in early 2012 and again in 2013.
"Boeing Commercial Airplanes maintains a strong order base of 3,443 unfilled orders,' the firm said.
Less successful was Boeing's long-range and long-delayed 787 Dreamliner. It lost four orders over 2010 as delays continued, despite a large order from United Airlines.
In 2010 up to the last week of December the Dreamliner received 37 orders, most of them from United, and lost 41.
