Taiwan's Aircraft Manufacturer Hits 10-year Revenue High

Revenue was $510 million

Taiwan's sole aircraft maker, Aerospace Industrial Development Corp, said on Jan. 7 that its revenue came in at 16.3 billion Taiwan dollars (US$510 million) in 2009. This is the highest revenue in ten years.

The increase in revenues mainly came from new orders for components from U.S.-based Bell Aircraft and contracts for the maintenance of military aircraft.

It said it expected revenues to further improve this year on the back of orders from Japan's Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp.

Under a contract it signed with Mitsubishi, the company will design and manufacture flaps, rudders and other components for a new regional jet.
