Came across this montage of AT&T ads from back in 1993 that has especial relevance to both manufacturing (creating the products that were forecasted) and implementation (actually getting consumers to buy into them). Some of the commercials feature what are now commonly-accepted aspects of daily life (for instance, RFID tags for tollbooth payment). Others, not so much (as we know from hindsight, even video-enabled phonebooths are not exactly future state).
