Dom Dannessa
Dominic A. Dannessa is executive vice president and chief customer and innovation officer, USG Corporation. Current accountabilities include Corporate Innovation in Libertyville, Illinois; Marketplace Opportunities; Manufacturing Operations, Engineering; Technical Services; New Technologies; Environmental, Energy, Sustainability and Corporate Efficiency Initiatives.
Dannessa graduated with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Youngstown State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
His previous assignments include executive vice president, Manufacturing, Building Systems; senior vice president, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management and Information Technology; senior vice president, Manufacturing, Ceilings and Supply Chain Management, Building Systems; and vice president, Manufacturing, USG Interiors. Dannessa joined United States Gypsum Company in 1978 and held numerous plant management positions.
Dannessa currently serves on the Board of Directors of USG Boral; USG Zawawi Gypsum LLC; USG Zawawi Wallboard; USG Middle East, USG Mexico and Knauf-USG Systems Joint Ventures. He also is a Director of Otsego Paper, Inc., U.S. Gypsum Engineering Company and USG Pipeline Company.
Mr. Dannessa is active in the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies and past Board Member of the Industrial Research Institute. He is an Advisory Board Member for Catholic Charities of Chicago; and, served as Chairperson of St. Rafael Church Pastoral Council, Naperville. He is also a member of the Naval War College Foundation, the United States Merchant Marine Academy Superintendent’s Council and Parent’s Association, and Rhode Island School of Design Parent’s Association.
