Toyota Boshoku America (IW 1000/410) announced today that it will invest $21 million and create 180 new jobs at its plant in Mantachie, Miss.
Toyota Boshoku Mississippi or TBMS manufactures seat components and door panels for the Toyota Corolla, which is manufactured in Blue Springs, Miss.
This expansion will increase their component production and for the new Corolla as well as another regional original equipment manufacturer.
The company was the first supplier to announce in 2007 it was locating operations in Mississippi to provide parts to the Toyota plant. When the company began production in 2011, Toyota Boshoku America had invested $49 million in its 404,000-square-foot facility and employed approximately 230 workers.
"We look forward to future growth, our continuous commitment to Itawamba County and the great state of Mississippi," said Toyota Boshoku President Teruo Suzuki.
Toyota Boshoku America, also known as TBA, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toyota Boshoku Corp., based in Kariya City, Japan.
