Kevin W. English, chairman, CEO and president of Covisint, the online automotive e-business exchange founded by many of the world's major automakers, resigned June 28 from the company. He was replaced by Harold R. Kutner, former group vice president of worldwide purchasing for General Motors Corp., in the role of chairman and CEO. Bruce Swift, former vice president of purchasing for Ford of Europe, joins Covisint as president and COO. "With the company near profitability, my goals are accomplished," says English. "I leave Covisint on solid footing and poised for profitability in the fourth quarter of this year." Covisint was founded in 2000 by automakers Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., DaimlerChrysler AG, Renault SA, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., and technology partners Commerce One Inc. and Oracle Corp. Covisint's U.S. headquarters are in Southfield, Mich.
