Compiled ByJill Jusko Global eXchange Services Inc., Gaithersburg, Md., has introduced an entry-level integration software solution for suppliers to the high-tech industry. The package is designed to help companies affordably comply with the RosettaNet trading requirements of high-tech manufacturers. RosettaNet is an independent, non-profit consortium dedicated to the development and deployment of open Internet-based business standards for the high-tech industry. The cost of the RosettaNet Basics package ranges from $20,000 to $50,000 for midtier partners, depending on the package options selected. With the package, users can exchange eXtensible markup language (XML) documents such as puchase orders and invoices with manufacturers that require transactions to adhere to the RosettaNet XML format. The package is developed around GXS's Application Integrator data transformation software and facilitates RosettaNet-based document exchange with up to three trading partners. Additional features include automatic RosettaNet trading partner set-up and a global help desk with local language support. The Basics package offers multiple options that include on-site consulting and various software adapters to integrate documents into back-office systems.
