BestTransport Inc., a Columbus, Ohio-based provider of online transportation execution systems, announced that it has formed a professional services group to extend the offerings it provides to customers. The group will provide carrier assessment, carrier acquisition and shipper collaboration services. The company says it will take the lessons it has learned from the 2,500 shippers and carriers that utilize its network to provide best practices services to aid shippers control costs and improve delivery. Shippers also may be increasingly challenged to quickly and cost-effectively find carriers due to new Hours of Service regulations that govern truckers, BestTransport notes. With its carrier assessment and acquisition service, BestTransport will assess existing carrier relationships and identify opportunities for improvement, as well as identify potential new carriers. The shipper collaboration services will allow shippers to collaborate with other firms that ship over complementary routes.
