By a 2-to-1 margin, the most sought-after jobs are managerial positions. That's what the analysis by CareerMosaic of its online jobs data in 1999 has found. The other jobs that were among the top five most coveted: sales, engineering, accounting, and marketing. Interestingly, the number of people seeking to be executives -- 115,692 -- only slightly outnumbered the 102,983 who have looked for entry-level jobs. And there were 6,000 more people who wanted to be writers than who wanted to be executives.
