Supply-chain integrity within the pharmaceutical industry will be the focus of a three-day conference slated for Sept. 24-26 in Washington, D.C. The forum is presented by the Institute for International Research, with U.S. headquarters in New York. The event, called TRAX -- Supply Chain Integrity for the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industries, will assess the current status of the pharmaceutical industry, identify its challenges, and explore regulatory guidance and technology options. The goal is to address the competency and security of the drug and medical device supply chain. Speakers include Benjamin England, regulatory counsel to the associate commissioner for regulatory affairs for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Eshetu Wondemagegnehu, quality assurance and safety of medicines director, World Health Organization. Additionally, presenters from major pharmaceutical companies will discuss adulteration and reuse, and tampering and tamper evidence. Additional information is available online.
