Compiled ByDave Schafer eSourcing-solutions provider eBreviate, Walnut Creek, Calif., won a multi-year contract to install its auction software within Volkswagen AG's information technology infrastructure that enables the automaker to create a complete, self-service, global auction model. The contract covers technology, maintenance, and installation of eBreviate's auction software and encompasses all of Volkswagen's operating units and brands, including the Audi, Seat, Skoda, and others. Volkswagen says the agreement is part its strategy to build a leading-edge B2B automotive marketplace. The new agreement extends its use of eBreviate's Internet Negotiation technology beyond the 270 auctions already completed, Volkswagen says. The German automaker plans to conduct auctions at its sites in Brazil, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Mexico, and Spain. EBreviate is an EDS company.
