New drive train technology from Dana Corp. should comfort the buyers of the new 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The automotive supplier is providing a new Quadra-Trac transfer case that incorporates a progressive, speed-sensing torque-transfer differential.
The system also marks the first industry use of Dana's Vari-Lok axles with progressive, speed-sensing torque-transfer differentials in both the front and rear axles. Without any driver involvement, the Quadra-Drive system is designed to keep the vehicle moving even if only one wheel has minimal traction.
