This edition of Market Moves Manufacturing makes it abundantly clear that the sector is undergoing big changes. While most of them are good, with stricter rules around hazardous substances, collaborative attempts to boost the workforce, and successful ESG-focused initiatives, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Rising child labor violations and an often-stubborn resistance to changing old habits can bog down progress and promote an outdated image of the sector. But, as with most problems, the best way forward is to acknowledge their existence and focus on the solutions.
