Southern California Edison (SCE) and Electricite de France, the French national utility, have announced a partnership to promote reciprocal economic development in their markets.
SCE will begin identifying local manufacturers and other business customers with potential for expansion in France. In turn, French utility officials will identify their own customers who could expand in Southern California.
The two companies formed the plans for this venture late last month. Officials from the two companies also made plans for "a two-way economic development infrastructure dialogue."
"This partnership will allow us to attract French companies to the U.S. in an effective manner," says Pamela A. Bass, SCE's vice president of customer solutions. "The long-term benefits of this partnership should include increased jobs and revenue for the region."
