Buoyed by a rebound in foreign orders, industrial orders in Germany edged up in February, new data showed on April 4.
The economy ministry said that industrial orders inched up by 0.3% in February from the level in January, partially making up for a 1.8% drop the previous month.
Even though the number of big-ticket orders in February was "again below average... the main growth impulses came from outside Germany," the ministry said.
While domestic orders declined by 1.4%, foreign orders were up 1.7%, with orders from outside the eurozone rising by as much as 6%.
By sector, orders for capital goods rose by 1.3% month-on-month in February, while consumer goods orders were down by 3.8% and orders of semi-manufactured goods slipped by 0.3%.
