Compiled ByTraci Purdum Comshare Inc., a corporate-performance-management (CPM) software provider, and Business Objects, a provider of enterprise business intelligence solutions, are partnering to offer Business Objects Open Financial Applications Initiative (OFAI). The initiative was created to support existing and planned investments in corporate performance management, say the companies. "The Business Objects Open Financial Applications Initiative has expanded our ability to offer customers a complete solution for managing the performance of their business," says Beverly Powell-Goldman, group vice president of strategic alliances, Business Objects. "[The] partnership . . . deliver[s] an integrated solution that combines the strategic planning, budgeting, consolidation, and performance management of Comshare MPC, with the data integration and advanced reporting and analysis capabilities of the Business Objects BI platform." The initiative provides real-time insights to business performance, Web-based reporting and alerts, and the ability to extract useful information from corporate data, according to the companies. Comshare is located in Ann Arbor, Mich. Business Objects is headquartered in San Jose, Calif.
