HighJump Software says its Container Advantage solution addresses one of the logistics industry's most challenging problems: building optimal carton, pallet, trailers and ocean containers. This new application is a component of the firm's warehouse management system, Warehouse Advantage. According to HighJump Software, a 3M company located in Eden Prairie, Minn., its Web-based Container Advantage delivers the following features:
rules-based engine that allows users to define specific processing rules by type of container, SKU, customer;
3-D graphical views of optimal container builds;
multiple open integration points for integration with other distribution systems as needed (such as parcel manifesting.
The application is aimed to help address challenges such as retailer requirements for store-ready pallets; automation or sortation systems that impose pallet-building constraints; and heavy, split-case picking requirements, among others.
